This lodge is in an ideal location as it is near some of the major game reserves in the area and it is within driving distance of the battle grounds. The lodge offers daily tours to these historic sites with the resident historian, Rob Gerrard. Anglo Zulu and Anglo Boer Tours require prior arrangement. The Lodge also offers photographic safaris, walking, horse trails and cultural experiences.

Accommodation:

Guests will be accommodated on dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Accommodation is offered in two types, deluxe rooms and standard rooms. Both types of rooms have the following facilities:

Deluxe Rooms

There are 2 deluxe rooms available. The deluxe rooms feature either king size or twin-beds as well as double doors looking out onto the fantastic view.

Standard Rooms

There are 12 standard rooms at the Isandlwana Lodge. Each room features a private balcony with a view of the Isandlwana Mountain.

Take N-2 North to Eshowe exit, Take R66 through Eshowe to Melmoth, and from Melmoth, take R68 to Babanago (approximately 42 k's toward Dundee you will see signs to Isandlwana and Isandlwana Lodge, turn left and follow for 9 k's to the Village of Isandlwana. From Dundee: Take R-68 to Nqutu, follow it for approximately 15 k's, turn right at signs to Isandlwana and Isandlwana Lodge. Follow road for 9-K's to Village of Isandlwana. From Durban: Take N2 Coastal Road North, past Stanger. Turn left to Eshowe on R66 and Gingindlovu tollgate. Proceed through Eshowe to Melmoth. Approximately 3 kms through Melmoth, turn left onto R68 to Dundee/Babanango. Unfortunately this signboard is not always visable from the road. Please keep a look-out when you come to this point on R68. Your next town is Babanango. At the stop sign in Babanango turn left. You are still on R68 to Dundee/Nqutu. From Babanango to the Isandlwana Lodge turn0off is 41 kms. Continue along dirt road for 9 kms into Isandlwana Village. Follow the sign to the Information Centre and drive post to Isandlwana Lodge. Please be careful of pothole between Melmoth and Babanango. Time 3-1/2 hours. From Johannesburg: Take N3 South past Heidelberg, onto Villiers. Left onto R103 & R34 to Vrede, Memel & Newcastle, turn right at T-Junction, follow road throught town and turn right onto N-11 at the next T-Junction. Aftter 10/20 Km turn left onto R621. Follow signs to Dundee.
