Arrive at Isandlwana Lodge anytime from 1pm.
The Lodge is carved into the iNyoni rock formation on top of which the Zulu commander stood during the battle of Isandlwana on 22 January 1879. Enjoy unparalleled views from the crisp early light of a sparkling Zulu dawn to the splendour of the African sunset.
Your 6 night KZN holiday has begun!
Over the next 3 days you will experience tours of the Zulu Battlefield sites of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift and other Anglo-Zulu/Anglo-Boer war sites that are conducted by resident historians. Tours to other Anglo Zulu and Anglo Boer battle sites are also possible by prior arrangement.
You are also encouraged to visit the Zulu village where guests can experience the life and customs of the Zulu people in an authentic setting.

Bother activities include walking trails, horse riding, birding tours, photographic safaris, or for those after peace and tranquillity, a picnic at a nearby waterfall, reading on the outdoor verandah or in the library or lying at the pool are all easily for the taking.
Arrive at Nambiti game reserve by 13h00.
After registering at the main gate, you drive a short distance through the reserve to the parking area where a game ranger from Nambiti Hills game Experience will be to meet you and transfer you to the Lodge.
Your Safari has already begun!
In addition to the Big Five, there are more than 30 other species of game, including cheetah, hyena, giraffe, hippo, kudu, eland, zebra, hartebeest and gemsbok, as well as more than 280 bird species, including the secretary bird, blue cranes, several types of vulture, martial eagles and water birds – the Goliath heron, sandpiper, red-billed teal and giant kingfisher.
You will have a couple of hours to freshen up before your late afternoon game drive.
The game drive lasts around 2.5 hours and you will get to enjoy a Sundowner Experience where the ranger will find a suitably beautiful spot to watch the sun go down.
Your final 30 or 60 minutes of the drive will be in the dark where you can try and spot some of the more nocturnal animals.

Game drives normally last from 2 to 3 hours depending on conditions and sightings.
At a convenient ( and safe ) time during the game drive, your ranger will find a spot for you to pull over and enjoy a light snack and some hot chocolate, coffee or tea. It is a good time to ask questions and discuss the morning sightings
A hot or continental breakfast will be waiting for you on your return. You have the morning at your leisure. Spend it next to the pool, catch up on sleep or perhaps enjoy a massage in the privacy of your own room ( extra cost, book on arrival )
